Set in the ancient necropolis of Alyscamps in Arles, the Cruise 2019 show combined influences from '80s metal glam with gothic fashion and historical details. Pieces that embody the idea of archeological finds are intertwined throughout the collection, referencing the setting of the runway show. This brooch features a cameo inspired detail engraved with mythological images. The cross pendant has a translucent effect that is reminiscent of stained glass windows. The colored enamel is applied in each individual cell using the elaborate plique-a-jour technique, a vitreous enameling process that dates back to the Byzantine Empire in 6th century AD and has been brought to jewelry by Art Nouveau artists.
