DWR Exclusive Henrik Pedersen began his career as a fashion designer but expanded into graphic design and product development after founding 365°, his Denmark-based design studio. Once you have been educated in design of any form, its quite easy to make the change, Pedersen explains. The creative mindset is the same; you just have to change your mental toolbox. And speaking of flexibility, his Grid Collection (2014) consists of several modular units that can be combined or rearranged to meet changing needs. This is a collection designed to provide the equivalent of indoor comfort outdoors, meticulously crafted to withstand the elements and look great for years to come. It sports aluminum frames pretreated with chrome and electrostatically powder-coated for superior corrosion resistance, hand-finished solid teak tabletops and cushions fashioned from the same comfortable foam used for indoor sofas but constructed to keep out moisture. Made in Indonesia. Materials: Powder-coated aluminum frame; solid teak tabletop; high-density foam cushions; Sunbrella® solution-dyed acrylic fabric upholstery. DWR Exclusive When we asked Matthew Hilton to identify the common elements found in his work, he replied, Functional, stackable, it has to store easily and be a good price. Fast-forward to today, and hes still staying true to those ideals. Seeing a need for durable outdoor furniture at accessible prices, Hilton created the Eos Collection (2011), which is sleek enough to work in an indoor dining space, as well. Eos is lightweight – literally and visually – smartly proportioned and very comfortable. Certain to inspire leisurely outdoor living during the long days of summer, this collection was named for Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn and bringer of light. Measurements:H 15.75" W 58.5" D 15.75"
DWR Exclusive Designer Walter Lamb was experimenting with bronze and copper tubing salvaged from sunken naval ships at Pearl Harbor when he created the prototype for his iconic outdoor collection. The Walter Lamb Collection (1940s) is hand-wrapped with marine-grade, UV-stable cording that's flexible enough to provide comfortable seating but strong enough to withstand the elements. The brass frame will not rust and does not need to be refinished. This collection was recognized with a MoMA design award. Made in Mexico. Although best known for her elegant modernist tubular steel furniture of the 1920s and 1930s, Charlotte Perriand also experimented with materials and produced craft-based designs during the three decades spent collaborating with Le Corbusier Group. In 1940, while living and working in Japan, Perriand conceived of the Outdoor Tokyo Chaise, a reinterpretation of Le Corbusiers LC4 Chaise Longue – but it was never produced. That is, until now. In 2012, more than 60 years later, Tokyo was put into production for the first time. Available in bamboo or teak, Tokyo is a fanciful combination of nature and the rational aesthetic of the International Style. Sitting atop a solid-wood base, its seat is composed of 12 curved wooden strips, which are connected to the curved bars below using satin brass studs. The seat pad and headrest are covered in water-draining, UV-resistant Sunbrella® fabric. Each piece is signed and numbered and, as a product of Cassina's Masters Collection, is manufactured by Cassina under exclusive worldwide license from the Le Corbusier Foundation. Made in Italy. A protective, water-repellant cover is included. Materials: Bamboo or teak frame; stainless-steel buckle; satin brass studs; Sunbrella Plein Air fabric. Measurements:H 25.5" W 59" D 25.75"

DWR Exclusive For more than 30 years, Giulio Lazzotti has maintained a diverse practice encompassing architecture, interior design and furniture design. He received the Torre Guinigi prize for his design for the historical center of Pietrasanta, Italy, and he is internationally recognized for his work in marble – so much so that he often teaches at the Academy of Art in Carrara, Italy (home to the famous white Carrara marble quarries). When he designed our Quovis Collection, developed with an Italian restaurant equipment manufacturer, he set the standard for quality stainless steel utility furniture. The Quovis Standing-Height Table (2001) is a comfortable height for working standing up or sitting on a barstool. The table is designed with a sound-dampening solid substrate to prevent the rattling and clanging of lesser-quality steel tables. These generously proportioned pieces are easy to clean and maintain, will not rust and are constructed to endure years of use. Able to withstand the corrosive action of various food and chemical acids, they suit a high-traffic café or kitchen, darkroom or workspace. The Standing-Height Table is equipped with lockable casters. Assembly required. Made in Italy. Materials: Stainless steel; lockable casters. Measurements:H 40.5" W 71" D 27.5"

The precision-engineered frame is assembled from four components that fit seamlessly together in support of the teak top. Clean-cut V-shaped legs are configured to increase stability and allow two or more benches to be put together for a unified ensemble. Sustainably harvested teak slats can be oiled to maintain their color or left to develop a beautiful silver patina. Craving furniture that could stand up to the salty environment of her seaside home in Florida, Florence Knoll called on Richard Schultz to create a decent set of outdoor furniture made out of materials that wont rust or corrode. That was in 1962, and Schultz spent the next four years designing his refined 1966 Collection, originally known as the Knoll Leisure Collection. At a time when most outdoor furniture was stamped out of metal with backrests shaped like bouquets of flowers, the 1966 Collection brought the clean lines and balanced proportions of indoor modern furniture to outdoor living. In the years since its debut, the collection has been re-engineered to take advantage of modern materials like Teflon® thread. In creating the 1966 Collection, Schultz satisfied Florence Knolls request for outdoor furniture that lasts, and many of the sets purchased 50 years ago are still being enjoyed today. The 1966 Collection is included in the permanent collection at MoMA. This is the authentic 1966 Contour Chaise by Knoll. Made in U.S.A. Fitted cover sold separately. Materials: Cast and extruded aluminum frame; weather-resistant polyester powder-coated finish; woven vinyl-coated polyester mesh; pure vinyl straps; Teflon thread; stainless steel supports and connectors; clear plastic floor glides. Measurements:H 33.75" W 24.5" D 58" Seat H 13"
DWR Exclusive Sol y Luna (1954) is an adaptation of Dan Johnson's Gazelle Collection, which was originally offered in wood or bronze, both with woven caning for the seat and back. However, due to the high cost of production and the intense hand labor involved, fewer than 150 pieces from the Gazelle line were ever produced. Now made in durable cast aluminum by outdoor manufacturer Brown Jordan, the design maintains Johnson's comfortable organic form. These pieces are shaped with the body in mind. The Adjustable Chaise back wraps around you and adjusts from upright to reclined (not fully flat); the seats are comfortably sloped for support in a relaxed position. Seat Pads sold separately. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Made in Mexico. Materials: Cast aluminum with powder-coated finish. SEAT PAD, 100% solution-dyed acrylic Suncloth® fabric.
