This set of tea towels features two painterly designs from Marimekko artist Aino-Maija Metsola. Designed in 2007, Juhannustaika ("midsummer magic") captures the exuberance of Finland's summer solstice celebration. On the solstice night, according to Finnish folk tradition, young girls pick seven wildflowers from seven fields and place them under their pillow to dream of their future love. Juhannustaika depicts the whimsical beauty of these blooms in vibrant pools of watercolor, clustered in an organic bouquet. Pointillism comes to life in Metsola's 1998 design, Mustikkamaa, abstracting festive berries in a burst of color. Set of two marimekko juhannustaika dishtowels: one of each design. 18.5"Wx27.5"D
