The first new bubble lamp in 40 years! The all new bubble lamp shade is available in three sizes to be used on any base of your choice or convert it to a hanging lamp by adding a canopy kit to your order. A mid-century classic, George Nelson first designed the Bubble Lamp in 1947 for Howard Miller. The firm eventually discontinued the line in 1979. In the 1990's Modernica reissued the Bubble Lamps to the original specifications using the original Howard Miller tooling. The Bubble Lamp is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Steel frame with polymer covering. The optional conversion kit includes a brushed nickel ceiling plate that measures 5.25'', white socket ceramic casing, a spyder attachment and 6' standard cord for an additional $37.50 Custom cord lengths are available. All of the Bubble Lamps are UL Rated for up to 150 watt bulbs, except for the Small Saucer style which is UL Rated for 60 watts.
