Each item is handcrafted in our workshop, small imperfections make each of them unique. Care & Info Sterling silver is an alloy metal, made from 92.5% pure silver and 7,5% copper. As pure silver is too soft, the alloy is necessary in order to have a stronger metal to work with. However, sterling silver is still a rather soft metal, taking good care of it will ensure it's good appearance for longer. Make sure you take your jewellery off during house chores and that, when stored, your jewellery is kept in a dry place, ideally in separate containers/boxes/zip-locks (so that the pieces don't scratch or tangle with each other). Because of the composition, silver also tarnishes (this is when it looks darker and dirty). Generally, the more you wear a piece, the less it tarnishes (the natural oils in the skin protect silver from tarnishing). However, it is recommended to avoid contact with perfume, lotion, soap, detergents and any other chemicals which might make it tarnish faster. The monom pieces are rhodium plated, in order to protect the silver a little longer and keep it from tarnishing. In the packaging there is an anti-tarnishing tab, so that it keeps your jewels dry and fresh for a longer time. Make sure you always store your monom jewels in the packaging they came with.
