The Sustainable Fashion Brands We’re Loving Right Now
Luxury shouldn’t be wasteful, and NET-A-PORTER agrees. NET SUSTAIN was created as a platform for brands like Mara Hoffman, Stella McCartney and others that strive to make fashion more sustainable.
Net Sustain is launching with 26 brands and over 500 products that "meet the business’ criteria for sustainability. These are a few of our favorite dresses from the collection from designers like Mara Hoffman and Maggie Marilyn.
One of the main criteria for inclusion in NET SUSTAIN is the need to be "Locally Made" – when at least 50 per cent of a brand's products have been manufactured within their own community or country.
Another criteria for designers and products included in NET SUSTAIN are "Craft & Community" - products that showcase exceptional, artisanal skills
"Considered Materials" are products made from resources which take into account the welfare of people, animals and the environment – a prerequisite for NET SUSTAIN,
Fashion that supports the health of the environment, worker and wearer are a key factor in selecting products for NET SUSTAIN.
The final trait is "Reducing Waste" – products and packaging that are made using upcycled materials.
